Stop press: as of Feb 96, I have found that the crashing problem is heat sensitive-by removing the cover of the base unit, the terminal will run for days without problems; so take the cover off (the screws are out at the moment) when you start using the terminal, and put the cover back at the end of the run (to reduce dust settling on the components)

Note: if the ethernet connection to the APT building is not working, the workstation will not be able to set the time accurately. If this is the case, and the workstation time is off by more than 30 seconds or so, login as root (using the ``su'' command, password on the back of the workstation) and type ``date hhmm.ss'' where hhmm.ss is the current time in 24 hour format).
