Introduction

A proxy cache is a local communal store of recently downloaded web files. These files can be subsequently accessed locally which reduces download time, network traffic and cost to The University of New South Wales. We encourage web users within The School of Physics who use standalone computers (PCs and Macintoshes) to set their proxy configuration to take advantage of this facility.
